MASTERTON SHOW
JIIIMJINO DAV TOMORROW SPLENDID ENTRIES. NIGHT SESSION IN EVENING. The Masterton Centennial Show will open at Solway tomorrow when the judging of most of the stock classes will take place, while in the evening a night session will be held. Peoples’ Day will be observed on Wednesday. Splendid entries have come to hand for the various stock classes and other sections of the show and officials of the Masterton A. and P. Association are confident that this year’s show will fully maintain the high standard set in previous years. A pleasing feature of the entries is that in spite of adverse circumstances, the stock classes are well patronised, especially sheep and pigs. The sheep entries are the largest for some years while those for pigs are a record. All cattle, sheep and poultry are to be in their pens tomorrow by 8 a.m., in readiness for judging at 9 a.m., and the sheep dog trials will commence in the ring at 8 a.m. Pigs are required to be in their places at 9.30 a.m., for judging at 10 a.m./ and sewing, fancy work and cooking exhibits must be in hand at 10 a.m. Vegetable exhibits require to be in their places at 9 a.m. The ring competitions will commence at 1.30 p.m.
The Night Show, which is being held tomorrow, promises many attractions for tlie public, such as tin hare racing, athletic events, national dancing and gymnastic display.
The Nursing Division of the Masterton St. John Ambulance will be on duty on both days at the Masterton Show.
