LOST MINE-SWEEPER
CASUALTIES IN H.M.S. SPHINX. (British Official Wireless.) • Received This Day. 9.25 a.m.) RUGBY, February 9. The Secretary to the Admiralty regrets to announce the following casualties from H.M.S. Sphinx, a minesweeper which was damaged by enemy air attacks last Saturday and reported as capsized while being towed to port on Monday. One officer was killed and four missing, believed to be dead, three ratings killed, one died of injuries and 45 missing, presumed to be dead.
