PATRIOTIC FUNDS
APPEAL FOR Y.M.C.A. SUPPORT (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. After a strong reiteration of the fact that the Patriotic Funds Board, and its advisory body, the Patriotic Council, are autonomous, will full power and control, not only over methods of raising funds, but also over expenditure, Mr R. 11. Nimmo, chairman of the standing committee of the council, addressing the Y.M.C.A. Optimists’ Club yesterday, called for the whole-hearted co-operation of members of the Y.M.C.A. to get enthusiastically behind the campaign to raise £lOO.OOO nationally, to be handed to the Patriotic Funds Board, to be expended solely for the benefit of troops in New Zealand, and overseas.
