INCREASE IN NET PROFIT. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. February 6. As indicated in a preliminary statement, the net profit of the New Zealand Refrigerating Company, Ltd., in the year ended October 31. 1939. was £,50,050, against £48.190 in 1938, and £07.928 in 1937. The gross profit, after providing for renewals, repairs, taxation, and sundry contingencies, was £92,087, against £91,134 in 1938, and £112,413 in 1937.

The unchanged dividend of 51 per cent requires £34,997, and with -£15,000 added to reserve for rebuilding, renewals, and extensions of buildings and plant, the carry-forward will be £38,438, against £38.379 brought in. A special resolution increasing the remuneration of the directors from £l2OO to £2OOO will be submitted to shareholders at the annual meeting on February 28.
