BUILDING SOCIETY
WORKMEN'S FRIEND. No. 2. The monthly meeting of the directors of the Workmen's Friend No. 2 Building Society was held last night. Mr F. J. Hunn (chairman) presiding, there being also present Messrs Wm Kemp, T. B. Braggins. A. V. Dixon. E. J. Brown, C. W. Walker, E. H. Morton and A. E. Hubbard. An apology was received from Mr W H. Jackson. The financial statement was submitted and received and correspondence dealt with.
The report of the valuation committee upon a security offered for an appropriation was approved. A proposal by a member to transfer his subscriptions to redemptions was considered, the Directors approving. A member proposed to make application for an advance of an appropriation upon the security of a property in Masterton. and it was decided that the directors would favourably consider the application when made, subject to valuation being satisfactory.
It was decided that the annual meeting to be held on March 28, and that a ballot take place at that meeting for the appropriation of £5OO.
