DANNEVIRKE SHOW

RECORD ENTRIES IN SHEEP.

CHAMPIONSHIP AWARDS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DANNEVIRKE, February 6. The Dannevirke Agricultural and Pastoral Association's two-clay centennial show opened today in fine but overcast weather, which held till late afternoon, when light rain began to fall. Toward evening, however,, the weather cleared somewhat and there were good prospects for fine weather tomorrow for people’s day. Entries in the sheep and dairy produce section were a record, and entries in the home industries section showed an increase over last year’s. The Jersey cattle section, which is always a feature of Dannevirke shows, fully maintained its reputation for quality and the number fo exhibits, which included entries from Taranaki, Wairarapa. Hawke's Bay and Manawatu. Judging in all the more important classes was completed today, and so even in quality were the exhibits in ■several classes that the judges had difficulty in separating them.
