WEDDING

CELEBRATED IN SUSSEX. BRIDE FORMER RESIDENT OF EKETAHUNA. On December 26, at Holy Trinity Church, Forest Row, Sussex, the wedding took place of Miss Margaret Isohel (Peggy) Lowes, younger daughter of Mrs F. B. Lowes and the late Mr F. B. Lowes, of Wairangi, Eketahuna. The bridegroom was Lieutenant-Command-er Gilliat Benfield Herbert-Jones, R.N.R., only son of the Rev G. Her-bert-Jones, of Hughenden, Vicarage, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire. Major D. F. Duigan, M.C., escorted the bride, whose dress was in mushroom pink. With this she wore. a brown hat and brown fox cape. Miss Doreen Duigan, who was in attendance as bridesmaid, wore an angora frock in delicate green. LieutenantCommander I. Jeffries, R.N., was best man.

A reception was held at The Wincel, Forest Row. Invitations were accepted by the following:—The Rev and Mrs Herbert-Jones, Major and Mrs Cole, Sir George and Lady Collier, General and Mrs Anderson, Captain Scott, R.N., and Mrs Scott, General Sir Charles and Lady Harington, Lady Buckleton, Mrs Hopkins, Mr and Mrs Laurence Heyworth, Captain T. Harbottle, R.N., and Mrs Harbottle, Miss A. Duigan, Miss E. Cameron, Lieu-tenant-Commander and Mrs Chatwin, Sir George and Lady Malheson. Lieutenant-Commander and Mrs Herbert-Jones hope to pay a short visit to New Zealand after the war. Meanwhile, the bridegroom has returned to his war station.
