SPECTACULAR FIRE
NEWSPRINT DESTROYED. LOSS ESTIMATED AT £50,000. ’ (By Telegraph—Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH. February 5. Stores of newsprint valued at between £25.000 and £30.000 were destroyed in a spectacular fire at Addington this evening. The paper was the property of the Christchurch Press Company, Ltd., and the building, which was also destroyed, was the property of the New Zealand Government, from whom it was leased. The paper is covered by insurance in a number of offices and the Press Company has other stocks of paper. The total loss, including building an railway stores, is put at about £50.000.
