NEW DEAL CUTS
AGRICULTURAL ESTIMATES AMENDED. POLITICAL REPERCUSSIONS LIKELY. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. WASHINGTON. February 3. The New Deal suffered a blow tonight when, despite the Administration's warnings that cuts would impair the national agricultural economy and have political repercussions, the House of Representatives slashed the 900.000,000 dollars agricultural estimate. President Roosevelt's bedrock budget, to 722,000.000 which, is 51 per cent below expenditures for the current fiscal year.
The major cuts include 25.000,000 dollars for farm tenant aid. and 72,578.000 dollars for the disposal of surplus commodities.
