Mr and Mrs J. K. Headifin (Wellington) were guests, recently at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Masterton. Mr Desmond Abel Smith, a wellknown business man in England, has accepted a seat on the board of directors of Dalgety and Company, Ltd., rendered vacant by the death of the senior director. Mr R. E. Bush. The Hon P. Fraser. Deputy-Prime Minister, left Wellington for Auckland by the Limited Express last night. He will attend the national centennial celebrations in Waitangi tomorrow, at which he will represent the Primo Minister, Mr Savage. The Hon W. Nash, Minister of Finance. left. Wellington for Auckland by Hie Limited Express last night. Mr Nash, who will attend the national centennial celebrations in Waitangi to--morrow. will visit other parts of the North Auckland district, before returning to Wellington on February 12.
