The following is the weekend programme in connection with the Eucharistic congress: — Saturday:—B p.m.: Congress pageant at the Town Hall. Presentation of phases of Catholic activities. Sunday: 7.30 a.m.: Holy Name Society and Men’s Mass and Communion at the Congress Assembly Ground, St Patrick’s College, followed-by breakfast. 11 a.m.: Solemn Pontifical Mass at the Congress Assembly Ground, St Patrick’s College. Celebrant, Most Rev. M. J. Brodie D.D., Bishop of Christchurch. Assistant priest, Dr. J. Kennedy. Deacon of the Mass, Rev James Hanrahan. Deacon at the Throne, Father Long. Preacher, Rev Father M. Hanigan, C.SS.R. 2.30 p.m.: Procession of the Blessed Sacrament from St. Mary of the Angels to the Congress Assembly Ground, St Patrick’s College, where Solemn Pontifical Benediction and the Papal Blessing will be given. 8 p.m. Second Presentation of “The Kingdom of God,” at the Town Hall Concert Chamber by the Catholic Players. A civic welcome will be given the Papal Legate at Otaki on Monday at 10.20 a.m.
