ORDER OF ODD FELLOWS MEETING OF PAST GRANDS POSTPONED. (“Times-Age” Special.) X Owing to the Masterton Odd Fellows' Lodge room being engaged on February 8, the meeting of members of Loyal Wairarapa Past Grands’ Lodge has been postponed until February 15. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs H. Pointon, of Carterton, are spending a holiday at the Riverside sea beach. Mr R. Herrick, of Kokotau, this week had the misfortune to dislocate a col-lar-bone. The friends of Mr Chas. Reid, of Chester Road, Carterton, will regret to learn that he is laid aside with illness. Mrs A. Pauling, of South Carterton, is an inmate of Croydon Private Hospital. She is progressing favourably. Opening of Schools. The State schools throughout the district will re-open on Tuesday after the summer holidays. Gun Club Competitions. The Carterton Gun Club will hold competitions tomorrow at the Clareville racecourse. New School Bus. Mr Ben Sewell, the contractor for the carriage pf children from the Carrington and Belvedere districts to the Carterton school centre, has provided a commodious new bus for the purpose. The bus is built on a Ford V 8 chassis and will accommodate up to 40 children. It is well ventilated and the work carried out at the Ford factory at Lower Hutt (for whom Messrs Hughan Ltd.. Pembroke Street, Carterton, are local agents) reflects great credit on all concerned. The bus will be used for the first time on Tuesday, and Mr Sewell has been warmly congratulated on obtaining such a suitable vehicle.
