MIRO ON PORT AHURIRI SLIP.

PRELIMINARY INQUIRY OPENS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, February 2. So that the damage she sustained when she was involved in a collision with the lighter Koutunui in the Napier fairway may be repaired, the Nobel Explosives Company's schooner. Miro, went on to the Port Ahuriri slip this morning. The Miro's cargo of explosives is to be temporarily stored in the magazine on Ahuriri Lagoon. A preliminary inquiry to collect evidence concerning the collision was eondueled by the Collector of Customs, Mr A. W. Gunson, this afternoon. The inquiry was a matter of routine, and lias as its object the determining of whether a magisterial inquiry is necessary.
