“RACKET BUSTERS.”

Tn “Sing as You Swing,” Action Picture’s all-star musical revue, many of the top line stars of radio and stage are assembled together for the first time, to provide an hour and a half of exceptional entertainment. Unlike many recent films of a similar nature, “Sing as You Swing,” has an interesting story running through it, and joining the various acts together into a complete entertainment. The story features Claude Dampier, Brian Lawrence, Evelyn Dall and the inimitable radio comedians, Clapham and Dwyer, and deals with the introduction of television into broadcasting. The film also highlights such popular stars as the four Mills Brothers, Nat Gonella and his Georgians, Mantovani and his Tipicas, and Lu Ann Meredith. Many bit tunes and spectacular dance numbers are included in the film, which offers such a wide variety of amusement that it must appeal to every type of audience.

That will undoubtedly be the enthusiastic verdict the audience witnessing the presentation at the Cosy Theatre tonight of the new Warner Bros.-Cosmopolitan topical melodrama entitled “Racket Busters” that has Humphrey Bogart, Gloria Dickson and George Brent in its leading roles. This grim and exciting film lays bare all the horrible consequences that can follow from the spineless surrender of the citizens of any community to the ruth-> less and rapacious operations of a racket leader. As a fighting independent 1 truckman, George Brent has one of the best roles of his career. Humphrey Bogart, as the cruel, callous and vindictive leader of the racket, reaches a new high in his gallery of portraits of sinister characters. Heading the feminine

players is Gloria Dickson as Brent’s wife, and this young actress fulfills all the promise of compelling dramatic ability that she displayed in “They Won’t Forget.” Also screening is a further episode of the thrilling serial, “Scouts to the Rescue,” featuirng Jackie Cooper.
