OYER A MILLION
CONTRIBUTIONS TO LORD MAYOR'S FUND. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. February 1. The Lord Mayor's Red Cross and St. John's fund reached and substantially exceeded £1,000,000 on Thursday. Contributions received on Thursday from overseas included £6OOO from the Bahamas and £lOOO from Ceylon, making the total £4750 from this colony. The Governor of Fiji states that recent remittances brought the total contributions from Fiji to £5OOO. while in Tangier it is reported that the British community is raising funds to furnish a motor ambulance for service in France.
