ASSISTANCE BY GOVERNMENT. GRANTS MADE TO VOLUNTARY ORGANISATIONS. (British Official Wireless.) (Received This Day, 10.12 a.m.) RUGBY, February 2. Interesting information is available regarding Government assistance for refugees. There is still a substantial number in need of assistance. _ Sir John Anderson announced that the Government had decided to supplement Hie efforts of voluntary organisations by making a grant equal to half the expenditure incurred by them but with a limit of £27.000 a month, provided such expenditure is approved by a committee representative of the several voluntary organisations. The Government also' had decided to pay to refugee organisations £lOO,OOO as a retrospective contribution towards the expenditure incurred during the first four months of the war.
