A BAND TO BE PROUD OF.
THE success of the Wairarapa College Pipe Band at the reecnl Centennial Pipe Band Contest at Wellington is the reward which is due to the members of a baud who, often in the face of adverse circumstances, steadily set about improving their playing and their marching. Constant practice, and a determination to become as proficient as possible in (heir work, has always been associated with the activities of the Band. From a small beginning, lhe Band has developed in a manner which has brought honqur Io lhe town of Maslerlon. There were those who in lhe early stages of lhe band’s operations predicted a short and inglorious life for il, but those critics stand confounded today. Those who have been responsible for the training of the boys have carried out. their work skilfully’ ;ll|| l conscientiously, and have presented .Masterton with a band of which every citizen is proud. It is the earnest desire of lhe ’’people of Masterton that the Wairarapa College Band will continue its career to higher honours than those already achieved.
