MASTERTON SHOW
ON FEBRUARY 13 & 14. Entries for the Masterton Show and Ram Fair close on January 29. The Masterton Show which will be held on February 13 and 14 is recognised as the premier autumn fixture and the ram fair attracts buyers from all parts of the Dominion. Dorset Horn sheep are catered for this year for the first time and these sheep should create much interest. In Lincoln, Romney Marsh and Southdown sheep the best are produced in this district and these should make a great display. All stud sheep and cattle are housed under cover. There are also looseboxes and new lock-up stalls for horses staying on the grounds overnight. This will be appreciated by owners of hacks and hunters. The Association supplies green feed free and the men in charge of stock can be accommodated free of charge on the ground. All meals for stockmen may be had on the ground at a small charge. 'A stock receiving committee will meet all trains and assist tljose with stock. They will also assist with the loading on the return journey. Good prizes and many cups are offered. The show caters for practically all classes. The pigs and kennel dogs are also under cover and feed for these is supplied. free. A dinner set is awarded to the lady guessing nearest to the correct weight of the bullock. There are classes for home industries sewing and horticulture.
Free schedules may be had from the Secretary. P.O. Box 40, Masterton. At the Night Show there will be tin hare racing.
