Mr Hutchings, Auckland, is staying at the Empire Hotel, Masterton.

Messrs A. H. McLeod and P. A. Moriarty (Feilding) are staying at. the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton. Messrs W. Letham (Napier), T. Logan (Palmerston North), E. G. Edey and C. Jorgoson (Wellington) are among guests at the Hotel Midland, Masterton.

Mr F. Dunn, of Wellington, who has been assistant Masterton show secretary for over a quarter of a century, has arrived in Masterton to take up his duties in connection with the show next month.

The Rev John McKenzie, of Toorak, Melbourne, past moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Australia, is visiting Dunedin. He will represent the Presbytery of Australia at the centennial celebrations of the New Zealand Presbytery to be held in Wellington shortly. Captain J. H. Henry. N.Z.S.C., has been appointed Assistant Adjutant and Quartermaster-General, at the Central Military District Headquarters, Buckle Street, Wellington, in succession to Major L. W. Andrew, V.C., N.Z.S.C., who is now commanding the Twentysecond (Wellington) Battalion at Trentham. Mr T. E. Denbee. son of Mr and Mrs T. T. Denbee. Renall Street, Masterton, has received notice to report at Weraroa on February 16. for duty as a pilot with the Royal New Zealand Air Force. Mr Denbee, who gained his pilot's licence at the Hood aerodrome. Masterton, was a member of the Civil Reserve of Pilots, and takes a keen interest in flying. Brother Clemens, of the Sacred Heart College, Auckland, has accepted an invitation to spend three years in the schools conducted by the Marist Order in South Africa. Educated at Timaru and St Josephs College. Sydney, Brother Clemens had a brilliant career at Auckland University College, where he gained the senior scholarship in French and subsequently graduated as master of arts, with first-class honours. For six years he was director of the Marist Brothers' High School and has been 21 years at the Sacred Heart College.
