INTOXICATION CHARGES

THREE OFFENDERS DEALT WITH

Three offenders on charges of drunkenness appeared before a special sitting of the Masterton Magistrate’s Court this morning. Messrs L. J. Taylor and E. G. Eton, J.’sP. were on the Bench.

Charged with disorderly conduct while drunk. Herbert Melvin Harwood, of Masterton was fined £5 in default 14 days’ imprisonment. The accused was arrested by Constable R. Berry at 9 o’clock on Saturday night. Charles Birt. of Masterton, pleaded guilty to being found drunk in Masterton. He was a second offender, and was fined £1 10s. He thanked the Bench, but was interrupted sharply in the midst of a long harangue. A first offender for drunkenness was convicted and fined 10s.
