WON BY RED STAR SENIORS
NEWMAN HOAR TOPS THE CENTURY.
The final match for the Bidwill Cup between Red Star and Lansdowne seniors on the Masterton Park on Saturday resulted in a decisive win for Rod Star. Red Star had 2 wickets down for 66 when play ceased on the previous Saturday and the score was carried to 376 on Saturday last, thus winning by 159 runs. The highlights of the Red Star innings were n faultless display of batting by Newman Hoar in putting together 116 and the excellently compiled innings's by W. Peterson (77) and C. Roys (53). JUNIOR CHAAIPIONSHIP Odd Fellows v. Red Star B.— At the Masterton Park on Saturday Odd Fellows scored an 8-point win over Red Star B. Scores: Odd Fellows, 231 for 3 wickets declared (Thompson not out. 111. Groube 35. Berry not out, 30, Harp 29: Pawson 2 for 105. Youens 1 for 40). Red Star B, first innings 111 (Youens 65, Summers 19; McGill 5 for 68, Berry 4 for 9. Mooney 1 for 26). Second innings, 83 (Corlett 24, Ranston 18. Youens 11; Berry 7 for 19. Thompson 1 for 8).
The Red Star A team forfeited their match against Martinborough, which was to have been played at Martinborough on Saturday.
CLUB GAME.
OLD BOY SENIORS v JUNIORS.
By 97 runs, Old Boys seniors boat Old Boys juniors in the annual singleinnings match played at Wairarapa College on Saturday. Thirteen men batted for the juniors, who were given, in addition, a fifty runs start. They were all out for 114 (H. Parsonson 31. J. Payne 17. A. A. McPherson 10: G. Barr 6 for 18. R. B. Hendry 2 for 3, Parsonson I for 7. W. O. Thomson 0 for 5. Montgomery 0 for 2, M. Munn 0 for 2. G. Brash 0 for 4. J. K. Logan (I for 10. C. Whitburn 1 for 10).
The seniors were well on top in making 211 (Parsonson 53 retired. Thomson 44 retired. M. Munn 27, Montgomery 15 retired. M. Dixon 21 retired. Logan 11, Whitburn 12, Feltham 2 for 7. Nicol 1 for 30. R. Towns 1 for 26. McPhee I for 13. G. Young 1 for 12. J. Payne 0 for 13.
