FORBURY PARK I CUP WON BY GREAT JEWEL. OTAGO HANDICAP TO ROYAL ROMANCE. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN. January 25. The weather was fine and cool for the first day of the Forbury Park Trotting Club’s meeting. The track was in splendid order and in the circumstances the times in some of the events were rather disappointing. In the opening event, Reta’s Own gave a poor showing, and was examined by a veterinary surgeon, who. when the horse had cooled down, found that nothing was seriously amiss.
Pot Luck’s chances in the Flying Handicap were seriouslj r affected when Renown's Best swung across him at the start af the race. The totalisator handled £20,036, compared with £18,361 10s for the corresponding day last year, an increase of £1674 10s. Results:—
