MASTERTON CLUE. WATER POLO MATCH. A meeting of the committee of the Masterton Swimming Club was held last evening when an invitation was received from the Eketahuna Swimming Club to meet them in a water polo contest. It was decided to accept the invitation, and the match will take place next Tuesday evening in the Masterton Baths in conjunction with the weekly competitions. The following club members are to attend a practice at the baths on Monday evening at 7 o’clock: D.O’Connor, L. Maguire, J. Barnes. F. Milne, M. Newland, V. McKeague, T. Burns, N. Brown, C. Roff. J. Strickland and N. Faulknor.
Arrangements were completed for the visit to Dannevirke on Saturday and the party in charge of Mr L. Maguire will leave the Post Office by bus at 2.30 p.m. There will be a few seats available for supporters of the club.
The next committee meeting has been arranged for Thursday evening when some important business will be dealt with.
It was reported that a sub-commit-tee from the Inter-house Sports Association is assisting the Swimming Club to arrange a special Inter-house gathering at the baths and this will probably take place on Tuesday evening, February 13. Details will be advertised in the “Times-Age” later.
