ORAZIO CASUALTIES

The Italian Line stated that 44 passengers and 60 seamen of the Orazio have been given up as lost. There were 645 aboard and 541 were saved, of which number a child died of burns.

The owners' investigation shows that the fire was due entirely to a mechanical accident to a motor. The Orazio carried 1500 tons of cargo. Shipping circles believe that the total loss will be over .£500.000.
