ITEMS FROM HOLLYWOOD. Dolly Tree’s latest creation for Billie Burke is a negligee in pure silk satin and chiffon with three rows of lace forming shoulder epaulets and a trio of inserts for the full, gathered skirt. In deep cream, the nightgown carries out the same theme with the exception of a lace hemline. Miss Burke, who plays Greer Garson's mother in "Remember," ti'e's a cord of heavy cream silk at the waistline, which is shirred in a wide band, thus accentuating the waist and giving a full, blouse effect to the bodice. The Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer actress has a cap in rows of matching lace which may be tied over the curls before retiring. "Sugar” not only takes its place on the family table, but in the fashion parade as well. With autumn's latest colour, “Burnt Sugar" enjoying tops in popularity, Florence Rice chooses the new tone for a princess style coat, with single button at the fitted waistline. The coat is dress length, with the hemline of the skirt moderately flared. Shoulders of the long, fitted sleeves are padded but not too square and the wide, stand-up collar is lined in luxuriant bands of red fox, which is also used for the single button. It is a coat which the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer actress finds practical with any colour/ ensemble.

For Rosalind Russell's dinner gown, Dolly Tree, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer designer. chooses silk jersey in a persimmon shade. The gown features the bustle back with a draped hipline and slim plain look at the waistline, with high bustline and full draped sleeves banded tightly at the wrist. With fullness concentrated in the back, the uraped skirt ends in a small train, and the only trimming is a row of tiny gold coins encrusted in jewels, which the star wears as a necklace.

Over the gathered trousers is the tailord blouse with brief peplum to give hip emphasis with sleeves bracelet length, and like the round neckline. edged with metal and wine embroidery which also is used on the belt which ties in a bow at the back banging to just above the peplum. Lana Turner's tiny pill-box hat of black felt is swathed in yards of red coarse net which winds under the chin to come over the hat and end in a snood covering all of the starlet's curb. Key ring, coin purse and miniature compact all hang in easy reach from Judy Garland's black patent-leather belt, finger-thin which the young statwears with her sweater and skirt ensemble.
