COSY THEATRE

“ARSENE LUPIN RETURNS.” Newspaper headlines, which led to the exposure and curbing of gangster activities, again have provided the theme for a daring motion picture. It is Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer’s “The Women Men Marry,” featuring George Murphy and Josephine Hutchinson, which brings to light the inner workings of a mystic cult through which trusting persons were robbed of millions of dollars. The picture will be shown at the Cosy Theatre tonight. Michael Fessier, himself an ace reporter for many years, has produced the picture from a newspaperman’s viewpoint. “It has been our purpose,” said Fessier, “to show, accurately and in detail the ingenuity, integrity and activities of the modern newspaper in protecting society from swindlers and other criminals.” Much of the action takes place in a newspaper office which was authentically reproduced from city rooms in which Fessier has worked. Claire Dodd, Sidney Blackmer and Cliff Edwards head the supporting cast with John Wray, Peggy Ryan, Helen Jerome Eddy and Toby Wing in featured roles.

The associate feature, “Arsene Lupin Returns,” is a brilliant and thrilling trans-atlantic mystery with touching romance interwoven. A grand cast, headed by Melvyn Douglas, Virginia Bruce and Warren William, with Nat Pendleton and others, return brilliant performances in the leading roles.
