APPEALS DISMISSED
AGAINST DEATH SENTENCES ON I.R.A. MEMBERS. (Received This Day. 11.45 a.m.) LONDON, January 23. The appeals of Barnes and Richards were dismissed by the Court of Appeal. Peter Barnes, aged 32 and James Richards, aged 29, were sentenced to death for murder in connection with the explosion at Coventry in June last year. At the hearing of the appeals, the Court and the prisoners were heavily guarded.
