CENSORSHIP OF MAILS
MR CORDELL HULL’S COMMENT. ACTION AS LAST RESORT. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Day, 11.25 a.m.) WASHINGTON, January 19. The Secretary of State. Mr Cordell Hull, stated that the American air service to Bermuda may be discontinued if the British persist in censoring United States mails. He added that he would not undertake to predict such action, which would be a last resort. Unofficially the State Department considers that the British probably have a legal right to examine mails for Bermuda.
