DOMINION BOWLS
AUCKLAND ACHIEVEMENT TRIPLE CROWN WON. CONCLUDING DAY RESULTS. (By Telegraph—Press Asoeiation.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Auckland put up a meritorious performance to win the triple crown at the centennial tournament of the New Zealand Bowling Association, which concluded at the Thorndon green in brilliant .weather yesterday afternoon. The Onehunga club won the fours, the West End club the pairs, and the Carlton club the singles. It is fourteen years since a similar record was put up. At Dunedin in 1926 three Otago clubs succeeded, Caledonian in the singles, St Kilda in the pairs, and Dunedin in the fours. Otago, however, holds the record, as they also won the triple crown under the New Zealand Bowling Association in 1918, Caledonian winning the singles, Dunedin the pairs, and Otago the fours. Yesterday afternoon's results were as follow: — RINKS CHAMPIONSHIP. Final. Onehunga (W. Whittaker. J. T. W. Macklow, H. A. Robertson. F. Livingstone). 21. Fitzroy. New Plymouth (H. Farmer. H. S. Sutton. E. Dingle, J. T. Pavitt). 14. Playing off for fourth prize in the fours, Lyall Bay (F. G. Hazelwood) 23. beat Tauranga (T. Bell), 19. PAIRS CHAMPIONSHIP. Final. West End, Auckland (N. Donaldson. W. Bremner, s.), 25. Thorndon (R. C. Watson, A. W. Cullen, s.), 17. Playing off for third and fourth places in the pairs. Island Bay (J. B. Lawrie). 21, beat Hataitai (P. McWhannell) 14.
