Mr McKenzie later secured for 400 guineas a well-grown filly by Foxbridge from Drama, dam cf Allspree and Millament.

Undesirables at Race Meetings. It is reported that the Centennial Exhibition has attracted to the Dominion a fair sprinkling of confidence men and pickpockets. Having found that the police control in Wellington seriously affected their operations in that city, some of them have been visiting other centres. At a recent country race meeting where several of these undesirables were refused admission by the racecourse inspector they made play nearby, and several found fools ready to part with their cash. One is reported to have been taken down for £4O.
