BELL SHIELD PARK v MASTERTON. TROPHY RETAINED BY HOLDERS. A match for the Bell Shield was played on the Park green on Saturday when Park (holders) met a strong challenge from Masterton. The respective teams were: —Park: Kilgour, Osborne, Shearer, Thompson (s); Masterton: Rogers, Stubbings, E. Reid, Morton (s). The game was closely contested throughout, the lead alternating between the two teams, but Park were ahead at the finish, retaining the shield by 21 points to 18. WALL CUP PARK CLUB SUCCESSFUL. Another match for the Wall Cup was played on the Park green on Saturday between the colts of the Park (holders) and Masterton clubs (challengers). The former were successful in retaining the trophy, the final scores being Park 28, Masterton 22.1 Park established an early lead but! Masterton made valiant efforts to close the gap and nearly succeeded on more than one occasion. PARK CLUB COMPETITION RESULTS. The following are the results of competition games played at the Masterton ParleChampion pairs: Buckley and Burke beat Anstice and Dagg. 21-12; ' and Shearer beat and Kilgour, 20-15.

Champion singles: Reader boat Coe. 24-14; Thompson beat Ferguson. 18-17; Wallace beat Roff, 20-14; Drummond beat Brown, 20-18. Thompson Cup (handicap singles): Wallace beat Taylor, 24-22: Osborne beat Duckworth. 21-20. Spackman Cup (colts' singles): O'Donnell beat Whale, 20-18; O’Donnell beat Moore. 21-17 WAIRARAPA CENTRE FOURS TOURNAMENT. The fours tournament of the Wairarapa Bowling Centre will take place on Anniversary Day (January 22). Northern clubs will play on the Park green and Southern clubs on the Greytown green. Entries will close on January 18.
