REGENT THEATRE
“TARZAN FINDS A SON.” A PICTURE FULL OF THRILLS. On Saturday the Regent Theatre was packed the audience having placed before them a picture full of thrills and outstanding for the brilliance of its acting—“ Tarzan Finds a Son.” Every exciting incident was vividly portrayed and held the audience spellbound. Good as were the earlier films featuring Johnny Weissmuller as “Tarzan” and Maureen O’Sullivan as “Jane,” this latest effort overshadows them because, in addition to the appeal of the central characters (again played by Weissmuller and Miss O’Sullivan) there is added charm in the exploits of Tarzan Junior, remarkably portrayed by John Sheffield, an amazing five-year-old athlete. With Weissmuller he performs many daring feats, among which are thrilling underwater swimming sequences. The supporting characters are admirably played by Henry Stephenson, lan Hunter, Frieda Inescort and Cheeta, the almost human chimpanzee, who is responsible, together with his mates, for most of the comedy interludes in which the film abounds.
There will be no pictures at the Regent Theatre tonight on account of the J. C. Williamson Co. staging “I Killed the Count.” “Tarzan Finds a Son” will be screened again tomorrow night.
