WEDDING
McLEOD—CLARKE. A wedding of much interest was solemnised at St Mark's Church, To Aroha. on December 15, when Joan Mary, elder daughter of Mr and Mrs A .J. Clarke, Ruakaka, was married to Corporal Norman John McLeod, only son of Mr and Mrs A. W. McLeod, of Masterton. Canon C. W. Turner, performed the ceremony and Mrs W. R. Burt presided at the organ. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a high-waisted frock of Canadian triple sheer in a new delphinium shade. Cartridge pleating formed the softly moulded bust line; the skirt was slightly flared. A picture hat and shoes in tones of deep clover finished a charming ensemble. She carried a sheaf of delphiniums in varying shades. Miss Barbara Clarke attended the bride wearing a Hungarian frock of mountain blue. The smocked waist was trimmed with narrow lacings of black velvet ribbon; the puffed sleeves were also smocked. Navy accessories, finished with a shoulder spray of sweet peas were worn.
The bride’s mother wore a model frock of cyclamen satin backed marocain finished with a shoulder spray of carnations in clover tonings. Smart black accessories were chosen. Corporal R. A. Pickett, of Morrinsville carried out the duties of best man.
