CREW OF CRASHED PLANE REUNITED ANOTHER MACHINE LOST IN SEA. CREW OF TWO RESCUED." By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY, January 11. The third member of the crew of the Royal Air Force plane which crashed in the Maitland district landed safely. The three airmen are now reunited. The pilot received minor injuries when he landed in bushes. The second man parachuted into a tree, climbed down and walked a mile to the nearest house. The aeroplane was located smashed to pieces, but was not destroyed by fire. The reason for abandoning the plane was exhaustion of the petrol supply. The Air Board explains that the machine was engaged in night exercises and had been in the air for 71 hours when the pilot lost his bearings owing to poor visibility. He ran short of petrol and decided to abandon the machine.

A Perth message states that an Air Force bomber crashed in the sea 35 miles north-west of Perth. An eyewitness ashore rowed out and rescued the crew of two. The plane sank in 60 feet of water.
