THIRD ECHELON

OFFICERS TO BE CALLED UP IN FEBRUARY. REQUEST FOR REGISTRATION. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 11. Officers of the Third Echelon of the • Second New Zealand Expeditionary Force are to be called for service in the first week in February. Men for training as non-commissioned officers will follow, probably a month later. Army authorities urge all officers who consider themselves suitable for selection to register without delay at local Army offices. WAIRARAPA AREA. NUMBER AWAITING TO GO INTO CAMP. In the Wairarapa area there are a number of officers who have already registered and are waiting to receive notice to go into camp, but so far no advice has been received locally as to when they are likely to be called upon. The quota system apparently does not apply to officers, who may be drafted to units from various parts of New Zealand.
