“I KILLED THE COUNT”
PRESENTATION AT MASTERTON.
J. C. Williamson’s new dramatic company will present at the Regent Theatre on Monday night Alec Coppel’s famous mystery play “I Killed the Count.” It will be staged for one night only. “I Killed the Count” proves once again that age cannot wither nor custom stale the infinite variety of the Williamson attractions. "I Killed the' Count" has all the earmarks of a popular success: a deftly-written, smoothactioned comedy-mystery with a plot as baffling as it is funny. It had London audiences helpless with laughter during a record run in 1937 and was revived again in 1939. An all-star cast has been brought over, amongst which are several with London and New York reputations. The cast includes Harvey Adams, Doris Packer, Atholl Fleming, Jane Conolly, Clifford Cowley, Katie Towers, Alec Pratt, Norman Lee, Eric Reiman, Hori Thomas, Flemming Barrett, John Howard, and Reginald Collins. The settings and novel mechanical devices, together with the intricate electrical effects, have all been imported, and the producer, Mr Rowland G. Edwards, promises a smooth and flawless performance. Other particulars are advertised. Box plan at W. G. Perry’s.
