At the British Expeditionary Force Headquarters in France, Mr Winston Churchill (First Lord of the Admiralty) issued a statement before returning to England. "I am greatly impressed,’’ he said, "with the co-operation and friendship between the British Expeditionary Force and the French, which is closer than in the last war.
