Parliament opened riotously with a fist fight, when Right supporters objected to the remarks of twelve ex-Communist Deputies, some of whom were in uniform. The uproar necessitated a temporary adjournment. M Daladier was absent owing to a broken ankle, as the result of a motor accident, which prevented a Cabinet meeting.
