CONTROL BY ARMY HIGH I COMMAND REPORTED DECISION IN BRITAIN. END OF LONG STRUGGLE. By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. LONDON. January 9. The “Daily .Mail's” diplomatic correspondent says that The Army High Command has won a long struggle against powerful opposition from the Air Ministry lor tactical control of all Royal Aii' Force units in France. An air officer Commander-in-Chief will shortly be appointed, and he will work under the direction of the Com-mander-in-Chief of the British Field Forces, Lord Gort. The Army has long argued that a single control would result in closer co-operation and greater striking power than the dual control that has hitherto been practised. AIR COMMANDER APPOINTMENT ANNOUNCED. (Received This Dav. 11.25 a.m.) LONDON, January 9. Air-Marshal A. S. Barratt has been appointed Air officer command-ing-in-chief the British Air Forces in France.
