NO CHANGE IN PRICES

MASTERTON STOCK SALE. The first Masterton stock sale of this year was marked by the large yarding of store sheep, there also being a good yarding of fats. At the sale this morning there was a very large attendance of buyers, but competition in the fats section was not very keen. Prices in general were on a par with late market rates. A prime lamb auctioned for the Provincial Patriotic Fund met with a far from patriotic reception. The lamb actually realised £4, 17s 6d being the final amount bid by a local buTche> after the lamb had been put up to auction several times. The Associated Auctioneers quote as follows: —Sheep: Fat b.f.'s, 21s to 17s; fat lambs, 21s to 18s 6d; fat ewes, 13s 6d to 14s 6d; wethers, 20s 6d to 14s 6d.
