AUCKLAND ENLISTMENTS. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, January 8. Enlistments for the Special Force continued steadily at the drill hall today, and when the office closed more, than 70 new recruits had been enrolled. The average age of the recruits was about 25 years. Throughout the day, four medical boards were engaged. There were 16 doctors and four dentists, who passed about half the number examined as fit and about 20 as temporarily unfit. RECRUITING IN DUNEDIN. DUNEDIN, January 8. The Area No 2 recruiting staff at Kensington drill hall is being kept very busy again. During the past few days in particular, there has been a steady flow of recruits, and the campaign has already resulted in the Otago area finding half its quota of 400 men for the second echelon of the Special Force. Approximately 200 men have been examined and passed as medically fit for service overseas, and detachments have been instructed to proceed to the. various camps on Wednesday. Thursday and Friday of this week. FIGURES FOR WELLINGTON. WELLINGTON, This Day. Some 78 enlistments were received during the weekend, bringing the total yesterday for Wellington and the Hutt Valley to 2772 recruits for the second and third echelons of the New Zealand Expeditionary Force.
