KILLED THE COUNT”

A STAGE THRILLER. "I Killed the Count,” which J. C. Williamson’s International Dramatic Company is to present for one night only on Monday. January 15, is the best stage thriller since the days of Edgar Wallace. It is a case of the perfect murder which, for a change, really does come off. And as the murdered count is a "nasty piece of work." nobody really minds. The novelty of the plot, however, is the confession of four different people, who under the strain of concentrated police examination admit the crime which quite obviously had only been committed once. What is intriguing is that the evidence against each seems conclusive. The author. Alec Coppcl. has used perfect logic in presenting his solution, and he had combined stagecraft with uproarious fun. "I Killed the Court" is said to be the most original and amusing murder play seen for many years: it is side-splitting, witty and irresistibly funny. The flesh and blood companyall give superb performances. The company includes Harvey Adams,. Doris Packer. Athol)' Fleming, Jane Conolly. Katie Towers. Norman Lee. Clifford Cowley. Alex Pratt. Hori Thomas and Eric Reiman. The box plan will open on Wednesday at W. G. Perry’s.
