PARK CLUB GAMES. . I GRADY MEDALS CHANGE HANDS.) After holding the Grady Medals for! several weeks during which they staved off several closely contested challenges by pairs from various clubs the Park pair, Thompson and Shearer, were defeated by Percy and Christian, of the Masterton Club. The match attracted a great deal of interest and after a good game the final score was Masterton 21, Park 16. Wall Cup. The following teams took part in a match on the Masterton green for the Wall Cup, a trophy for competition between colts of the Masterton and Park clubs: —Masterton (holders): Holtham, Guthrie-Smith Rogers. Tamblyn (skip); Park: O’Donnell. Whale. Andrews, Smith (skip). Park were slow in making a start, Masterton running up ten points before Park .found the green. On the twelfth end the board read 14 —7 in favour of Masterton but by the 19th end Park had reduced their deficit to 2. the board reading 16 —14. On the 20th end Park scored 5. putting them in the lead for the first time, 19—16. Both teams rose to the occasion for the last end and good bowls were played on each side. A.fter Park were lying 4 up GuthrieSmith drew a perfect shot with his last bowl. Rogers followed with good bowls and when the skips left the head Park were 4 down but Smith, with his first bowl moved the jack to gain second shot. There was no further alteration and Park emerged victors by 19 — 17. Much enthusiasm was displayed in the match and-when presenting the cup to the winning skip Mr G. Hayne (Centre President) paid a tribute to the play of both teams. Wallace Craft Medals. ■ In a match for the Wallace Craft. Medals the Carpenters and Joiners . (holders) were defeated by the Post and Telegraph (challengers). The teams were: —Carpenters and Joiners: Jenkins, Dagg. Spackman, Thompson (skip); Post and Telegraph: Ferguson, Butler, Burke. Kilgour (skip). P. and T. were 3 up on the 20th end and in a fighting finish Thompson killed two ends in succession but P. and T. finally scored a single making the final score 23—19. Results of other games played at the Park are:—Champion singles; Brown 21. Fenton 10; Osborne 18. Macpherson 14; Winhall 18. Carr 16; Ferguson 17. Reader 14; Shearer 25. Fenton 15. Colts' singles (Spackman Cup): Moore 17. Whale 14.
