At the Moorefield races on Saturday the following was the result of the Peter Moore Gold Cup, of £6OO, Im.: Sedunum, 0.10 (Munro), 1; The Squire. 7.3 (Thompson), 2; Marengo, 8.2 (Coutts), 3. Thirteen started. Sedunum was well back at the home turn, but came through the field at a great pace and snatched victory by a neck; Marengo was two lengths away third. Time, 1.42. Moorefield Handicap, Ijm.: Sidcup, 7.9 (Thompson), 1; Miss Linbul, 6.9 (Lester), 2; Korimako, 7.13 (Darke), 3. Nine started. Head; length. Time, 2.8. Mark Twain and Rosy Morn, winners respectively of the Juveriile Handicap for colts and geldings, and for fillies, are both trained by G. P. Nailon. MOONEE VALLEY RAGES. WINTERSET SALUTES JUDGE. MELBOURNE, January 7. At the Moonee Valley races on Saturday the following were the principal , results:—- ' Cumberland Handicap, IJm.: Winterset, 7.6 (Riley), 1; French Legion, 8.3 (Skidmore), 2; Contact, 6.13 (Luck1 wald), 3. Six started. Two lengths; head. Time, 2.73. Banyule Handicap, for three-year-olds, Im.: Old Scotch. 7.3 (Powell), 1; Considerate, 8.3 (Griffiths), 2; Bursary, 8.12 (Martin), 3. Half a head; length and a quarter. Time, 1.403. The New Zealand-bred Bursary, by Pink Coat from Victory Bond, looked a real danger in the straight, but faded out.
