The Transport Minister, Mr Howe, broadcasting, revealed that the War Supply Board had spent 65 million dollars, exclusive 25 millions for railway equipment, and was spending four millions weekly on a rising scale. He added that forty aerodromes were ready for the Empire air scheme and survey parties were mapping forty more for development which will start as soon as the weather permits. It is estimated that over four thousand planes are required. Of these, 1.282 will be manufactured in Canada, except for engines, 870 English-built planes will be assembled in Canada and 593 are being manufactured in the United States. In addition, 1.622 planes without wings have been ordered in England. The wings are to be manufactured in Canada and the machines assembled here. Deliveries from abroad will commence on May 17.

A million dollars is being spent on building seventy-two boats, from powered eighteen-footers to steel ships the British whale-catcher design, for delivery both to the Canadian and British Governments.
