OTHER PEOPLE’S IDEAS

METHODISM OR PACIFISM (To the Editor.) Sir, —Is there a creature so low that it would not defend its offspring, unless it be a worm? A creature, I cannot say a man, who would not defend his mother, sister, wife, child or home against an invader, should be deported. I challenge the Methodist Church of New Zealand to dissociate itself officially from those who, pretending to represent Methodist Bible Class young men preach unconditional pacifism. Or else would the members and adherents of the Methodist Church disclaim such a church. —I am (or was), A METHODIST. Masterton, January 6.
