RAMILLIES MEN

At a meeting this week of the Camp Comforts and Amenities Committee of the National Patriotic Council. Paymaster Lieutenant-Commander H. R. Sleeman, M.B.E* Assistant Secretary of the Naval Board, told something of the exacting nature of the duties of the personnel of IT.M.S. Ramillies were called upon to discharge and the long spells they spent at sea. In view of the fact that the board's funds include contributions specially earmarked for the Navy, a recommendation was made to supply the men on the Ramillies with fresh butter and cheese, and with the co-operation of the Marketing Board. 12001 b of cheese and 12001 b of butter, as well as fruit and fresh lettuce, were supplied, and from the State Country Library Service about a thousand paper-covered books and 30 bundles of periodicals and illustrated papers. It had been intended to supply the ship with games, but Ibis had been done at Melbourne while she was there.
