PARADE OF SIX THOUSAND LN SYDNEY PORTION OF EXPEDITIONARY FORCE. CHEERED BY HUGE CROWD. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. SYDNEY. January 4. Portion of Australia’s new army for overseas marched through Sydney's main traffic thoroughfares today in brilliant sunshine. They were cheered by an admiring crowd of half a million, who thronged the two-and-a-half-mile route. The saluting base outside the Town Hall was occupied by an impressive group of military leaders, including the Governor-General, Lord Gowrie, and the Commander-in-Chief of the Australian Military Forces, LieutenantGeneral Sir Thomas Blarney, who will lead the army into battle. Six thousand men took part in the parade, which created a deep impression on the people.
