SOLWAY WEATHER
RECORD FOR THE PAST YEAR. Mr H. M. Boddington reports that the rainfall at Solway during each month in 1939, compared with those of 1938, is as follows:—
In December there were 10 days with rain. The highest fall was 108 points on December 11, and the lowest 5 points on December 10, as compared with 4.95 (1938), 1.69 (1937), 3.12 (1936), 1.82 (1935), 8 points in 1934. The average for December over 36 years is 3.06 inches. The total rainfall for the 12 months (29.57) compares with 47.33 (1938), 32.60 (1937), 44.09 (1936). 46.04 (1935), 34.52 (1932). The average for 36 years is 39.46 inches.
