WAR RELIEF
AMERICAN RED CROSS EXPENDITURE. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. WASHINGTON, January 1. The American Red Cross has spent 858,881 dollars in war relief since the outbreak of the war, and of this sum over 138,000 has been spent during the past 10 days for Finland. Approximately 300,000 dollars has been spent on 250,000 articles of clothing and over 1,000,000 surgical dressings. The cash expenditure included: Polish relief, over 307,000 dollars; Great Britain, 25,000 dollars; France, 13,000 dollars. The Russian and German Red Cross branches have not requested assistance.
